Cloud Sales Specialist – Federal  


The Role:

We are looking for our next team member to enable AMD’s leading public cloud vendors to deliver a new era of datacenter computing performance and scale by solving real-world challenges with AMD-based public cloud instances. Leading the account and technical engagement discussions with decision makers within the Federal Government marketplace, driving engagement with the SA/Account Teams at Public Cloud Service Providers, supporting partner discussions, and participating in regional events targeting Federal Government customers and public cloud providers. Being accountable to the Global Account Managers and Technical Team for AWS/Azure/Google Cloud and other Public Cloud accounts, and to our Federal Business Development Executives, who own our end Federal Government customer relationships. Collaborating with the Cloud team to drive AMD’s overall cloud business to meet or exceed revenue goals.


The Person:

  • Solid understanding of the Civilian and/or DOD markets and their sales cycles
  • OEM Solution Architect, Cloud-Native Architect, Enterprise Architect, Applications Engineer, or Enterprise Account Manager or Business Development Manager with technical chops
  • Balanced with excellent people and communications skills
  • Ability to cultivate strong internal (sales, marketing, engineering) and external (Federal Government customer and partner) relationships
  • Technically proficient, outgoing, proactive, organized, motivated and self-sufficient
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communications skills
  • Prioritization and time management, program management, issue tracking and organization skills
  • Willing to travel up to 60%


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive awareness and articulate the benefits of AMD technology to Federal Government customers and partners
  • Collaborate with internal and Federal partner sales teams to present AMD-based solutions tied to customer problems
  • Partner with our Cloud Account Sales-Out leaders on priorities and strategies for Federal partner and customer engagement in Federal Government accounts
  • Team up with other AMD specialists to tackle customer migration or performance challenges
  • Influence and lead the execution of evaluations and proofs of concept to ensure a quality experience
  • Capture an understanding of competitive Federal landscape and customer demands to share with AMD design and product marketing teams
  • Identify and drive engagement and pipeline management
  • Attend Federal partner events as an AMD subject matter authority and build customer relationships


Preferred Experience:

  • Proven success selling cloud solutions into Federal Government customers in a business development capacity
  • Demonstrated track record winning multimillion dollar large Federal Government programs
  • Strong expertise in crafting, executing on, and driving solutions selling and product marketing for cloud services
  • Knowledge of virtual machine offerings of at least one public cloud provider


Academic Credentials:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience



DC Area or near a major US airport hub
