CPU Static Timing Engineer - 85081

The Role:

As a key contributor to the AMD Zen CPU core team, you will help bring the latest generation of our industry-leading processor architecture to market. Working across multiple engineering teams and disciplines, you will help define timing goals, coordinate closure activities, and work closely with our SoC customers to deliver products with unparalleled performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with physical design, DFT, and SoC teams to understand, document, and validate IP and hierarchical block timing requirements
  • Align with bounding-box team on aggressive but achievable performance goals across operating conditions
  • Support regular static timing analysis runs at all levels of core IP hierarchy
  • Drive final IP timing closure through top-level ECO generation and close coordination with hierarchical IP owners
  • Drive ongoing development of timing flow automation and metric data collection
  • Document IP/SoC timing goals, margin requirements, and final signoff criteria

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of noise, cross-talk, process margining, and all other timing-related aspects of silicon design
  • Experience with multi-scenario and multi-voltage timing closure
  • Experience with static timing closure of high-performance IP in deep submicron process nodes
  • Understanding of clock-domain-crossing techniques and validation methods
  • Working knowledge of circuit modeling, transistor fundamentals, and corner selection
  • Familiarity with physical design synthesis, place and route, and extraction flows

Academic Credentials:

BS or MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
