Technical program manager role leading a diverse engineering team responsible for end to end validation and platform execution for next generation AMD Client Chromebook(TM) solutions.

The candidate:

The ideal candidate has owned the delivery of product programs from Concept through Customer Ship, utilizing large, matrixed teams to plan and execute system level products. You will have a deep understanding of the technical challenges in the interaction of silicon, software and board elements on next generation computing system solutions. You are energized by working in a fast-paced technical organization across multiple sites, with multifaceted product requirements.


  • The Program Manager owns planning and driving the execution of platform-solution engineering functions to enable outstanding customer solutions.
  • Drives alignment between AMD business unit product deliverables and customer platforms to ensure the highest level of customer happiness and quality throughout the product lifecycle
  • Engages with technical and business leadership teams to understand and detail program scope, establish coordinated schedules, assess, and lead program progress and risk, and lead resource and budget plans.
  • Represents the Client Systems Engineering organization in corporate planning and execution forums, including occasional presentations to Senior VP’s
  • Coordinates deliverly of boards, silicon and platform components to internal test teams in support of power on and pre-production validation activities.
  • Supports the customer-facing engineering and business teams to set product maturity and schedule expectations, oversees the development and distribution of detailed product collateral, and proactive communication of pre-production issues to early partners.
  • Develops and shares outstanding processes to streamline and grow the organization to meet new challenges and expanding roadmaps.

Required skills:

  • Has driven product development with hardware platforms and related software ecosystem. Specific experience with x86 SOC products and PC industry suppliers/OEMs/ODMs is preferred.
  • Breadth knowledge of x86 CPU/SoC/Chipset/Graphics architecture and experience in functional, electrical, power-performance or security pre- and post- silicon validation.
  • Skilled in collaborating with customers, partners and in managing joint-development projects
  • Ability to extract action plans from sophisticated technical discussions and translate into succinct messaging tailored for varied targeted audiences
  • Familiarity with budgeting, resource prioritization, and long-range planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and executive level presentation skills
  • Seasoned in leveraging MS Project, Excel, Share Point, Teams or Confluence for clear communications and coordination of work.
  • Familiarity with JAMA, JIRA and similar Systems Engineering requirements management and defect tracking tools.
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, able to prioritize, and balance multiple work streams to tight deadlines
  • >3 Years Program Management Experience and >6 years overall relevant experience in the Semiconductor Industry - specifically New Product Development of sophisticated SoC’s.

Academic credentials:

Bachelors degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science is required.

Masters in Business Administration or PMI PMP® Certification is a plus.
