THE ROLE

This role is part of the Virtual Bring-Up (VBU) team at AMD. VBU is specialized in emulation and hybrid model methodology. As part of this role, you will work directly with the Client Design Emulation and Platform Emulation teams to architect and develop robust emulation modeling environments and ensure successful emulation test plan execution in pre-Si and post-Si timeframes. You will work closely with the project teams to develop world-class Client Emulation model capabilities and help debug emulation modeling environment issues. You will support execution teams to execute their workloads that include design verification, power, performance, SW/FW, and OS boot. You will interface with program execution teams, other VBU team members, and Emulation vendor AEs to ensure program success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Design Emulation teams to architect a list of emulation models needed to execute the pre-Si and post-Si emulation test plans.
  • Ensure emulation modeling environments have the necessary capabilities to execute test plan. Capabilities include transactors/trackers, as well as testbench and debug capabilities.
  • Work with teams to maximize Emulation model performance and throughput.
  • Interface directly with the Vendor AEs to resolve third-party issues including build-time and run-time issues.
  • Collaborate across different product segments to ensure re-use of the best methodology across AMD.
  • Create detailed documentation to ensure clarity in execution.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
     

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience with at least one emulation platform: Zebu, Veloce, Palladium, HAPS, Protium.
  • Deep understanding of emulation/verification testbenches, Verilog RTL, monitors, transactors, and hybrid models.
  • Proficiency in Linux, C/C++, Perl/Python, and TCL.
  • Deep understanding of emulation debug capabilities and driving best debug practices.
  • X86 system architecture and prior experience in Client system architecture is a plus.
  • Experience with automating emulation builds and runs as well as continuous integration (CI) is a plus.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent is preferred.

COMPENSATION RANGE & BENEFITS:
