Direct ownership for driving AMD's Client platform validation and debug strategies, planning, and execution of our client platform Products, which are used by major OEM and client solution customers in the world.

You also get to interact with the senior leadership team, play a role in defining our products, and ensure that we verify using real world use cases and the latest approaches in semiconductor validation. Moreover, work with internal teams and our customer teams during critical issue situations and help get issues resolved in time to meet customer development or sustaining milestones.

The mission of this role is to drive quality validation coverage and minimize test escapes with a keen eye on automation for test execution.

The Person:


An experienced lead engineer with background in SoC/product validation. The candidate must possess sophisticated ASIC core & Post-Silicon/Validation experience and should demonstrate abilities to develop and execute end-to-end solutions to configure next-gen SoC/system for validation. Solid understanding of X86 and chipset architectures DDR memory interface, and other IOs (e.g., USB, and PCIe) desired.


Key Responsibilities:

Drive system validation engineering efforts for next generation AMD client roadmap products. With a focus on Linux windows/Linux eco-system, lead the effort to develop validation test plans, strategy, and tests for post silicon validation as well as execute them on next-gen client products. Drive engineering effort and successful partnership with internal partners in client system engineering to deliver phenomenal quality products with predictable cadence.

  • Work on test plan and execution for system validation.
  • Analyze, configure, and propose improvement to current practices to achieve efficient validation methodology.
  • Join a group of engineers collaborating in various areas of system engineering and pre-silicon platforms like emulation, FPGA etc to review features and customer use cases for developing and executing end-to-end validation on AMD client products.
  • During development, the solution lead is tasked to provide root cause analysis and guidance to internal design teams to help close any gating issues.
  • Support product engineering in resolving customer issues which require system-level expertise.
  • Provide debug, applications support, and design assistance to customers, and field applications.
  • Lead and track technical issues, risks, and priorities.
  • Handle customer and executive communications, including program status, risks, and opportunities.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in client PC or server system design and validation, CPU/SoC and platform bring-up; OS based testing tools and environments, hardware debugging using post-silicon tools as well Linux OS based debug, failure resolution and tracking.
  • Customer engagement experience with OEM/ODM for Client Products a plus.
  • Familiarity with: Computer Architecture concepts and silicon features; Microsoft Operating Systems, Linux Operating Systems, virtualization software (VMware, Xen, et al), and validation/certification processes; system component compatibility; stress testing; system power management testing, I/O and multimedia validation.
  • Understanding of PC industry standard busses and their software stack, such as PCIe, USB, and SATA is required.
  • Knowledge of Windows Internals, Kernel mode driver programming, Operating Systems & Applications.
  • Strong analytical skills, proven experience in design of experiments to solve problems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required in the role of supporting customers

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering or computer science
