CVP, Design Engineering - SCBU

The Role:

As CVP, Design Engineering, you will lead product development and engineering for AMD’s Semi Custom Business Unit (SCBU). The SCBU provides sophisticated, high-performance SOCs that power some of the industry’s most innovative products, including the Sony Playstation 4 and the Microsoft Xbox One game consoles. Your teams will partner with industry-leading customers to envision, build and deliver systems powered by AMD custom SOCs. You will have direct customer interaction throughout the program lifecycle, from initiation through project design, validation and production ramp.

You possess strong negotiating skills and are able to repeatedly deliver “win/win” outcomes. You have an affinity towards technology products, are curious and creative in applying technology for new insights and applications. You have outstanding integrity, are direct with subordinates, peers and management executives. You are used to working in a culturally diverse organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management to a world-wide team of over 500 engineers and contractors
  • Partner with business development teams to identify new SOC opportunities and assist in pre-sales engagements
  • Develop high-confidence executive plans to meet challenging customer schedule requirements
  • Maintain a strong customer-centric culture passionate about meeting customer commitments
  • Identify and foster top management relationships with direct customers
  • Manage a governance and review process for ensuring progress and results
  • Build and develop a diverse, growth-oriented high performance team
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, develop and mentor top engineering talent

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Demonstrated career progression in the semiconductor industry with a consistent record of building and delivering sophisticated products
  • Experience at the VP level in Product Development
  • Experience building, motivating and leading global, multi-location teams of 250+ employees through development processes and lifecycles for large-scale projects
  • Passion for delivering high quality products
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to the executive management team and to keep both groups informed of the group’s operational status and plans for the future
  • Ability to travel and be customer facing up 50% of the time

 

Academic Credentials:

  • Undergraduate or Masters’ degree in engineering
