Operational IT Communications Specialist (New Graduate) – 115761



AMD seeks an upbeat recent communications graduate who is wanting to pursue an exciting career in employee communications within a corporate environment. This position provides an outstanding opportunity for advancing skills and career growth with solid experience and exposure to internal communications at a global company.


The ideal candidate will have a passion for talking to people and writing. This role will interview people, research standard methodologies, and write promotional or informational communications that support the operations of our Information Technology (IT) organization. Responsibilities may include leading the IT monthly newsletter by planning the articles to be included in each issue, meeting colleagues to interview them as authorities and then developing compelling stories that promote the value of IT solutions and applications. While the subject of the content may be technical in nature, this role will help promote the adoption of various IT strategies by developing creative messaging that appeals to non-technical audiences.



Ability to think and communicate clearly. The ideal candidate will routinely research standard methodologies, meet with IT colleagues and/or partners and build concise communications work you're doing about various IT applications, systems, policies, or solutions.



  • Excellent writing and editing skills, presentation development, attention to details, and ability to navigate ambiguous issues to build engaging messaging and plans.
  • Comfortable in asking questions to better understand the objectives, desired outcomes or requirements of technical systems or applications used to support business processes.
  • The ability to work optimally under deadline and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding planning, project management and writing/editing skills.
  • Experience in crafting and maintaining websites, preferably using SharePoint as the content management platform.
  • Experience in writing content for social media or leading a social media editorial calendar, as part of a coordinated multi-channel internal communications plan.
  • Teammate, ability to collaborate, develops strong working relationships, and demonstrate horizontal leadership capabilities within a matrixed organization environment.



  • 1 to 3+ years corporate communications, internal communications and/or organizational change communications experience in a global company.
  • Knowledge of how to use various communication tactics and channels to translate sophisticated or technical content into compelling messages that resonate with non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in writing content for emails, newsletters, social media, posters and/or websites.
  • Video production experience is a plus.
  • Website creation, content management and/or HTML knowledge is highly desired.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communications, or a related communications field.
