What you do at AMD changes everything

At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible.  We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.

Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the “extra mile” to achieve unthinkable results.  It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world.   If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.

Cyber Operations is the central nervous system for enterprise information security responsible for monitoring, detecting, categorizing, analyzing, and initiating response to security threats. As a Cyber Operations Intern you will work alongside senior analysts in one of the following capacities:

  • Security Operations Center - you will participate in a rotation with analysts around the globe, monitoring and triaging alerts produced by AMD's threat detection systems. You will follow established SOPs to analyze the alert and come to a preliminary determination of risk; and per SOP will enact defined corrective actions or escalate to a more senior analyst for further investigation. You will gain experience using such technologies as Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR/XDR), Intrusion Detection/Prevention System (IDS/IPS), Next-Gen Firewall (NGFW), and more.
  • Threat Assessment Center - you will join a team of expert threat analysts searching public and private sources to lean of emerging threats. You will research to gather information about such threats, known actors, known exploits, known detective options, and known remediation options, and will write alert bulletins to share with appropriate stakeholders within the company. You will also assist senior threat hunters with creating and testing threat hunt hypotheses, and with turning viable hunts into repeatable detections for the SOC.
