DDR Validation Manager - 79813

The Role:

The Manager of the team will be responsible for Silicon and System DDR Validation of AMD Server products.

This individual will develop the team or DDR validation and will work with Silicon Design, FW Design, Platform Design, Debug leads, and Software teams to provide detailed technical direction, drive focus and prioritize test planning, execution, and issue debug for all aspects of AMD’s datacenter DDR validation.

The Person:

The person should be experienced in both as a technical lead and/or a people manager. A strong understanding of memory architecture and functionality would be highly encouraged. Furthermore, experienced with driving multi-site and multi-disciplined engineering teams. A successful candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to structure and execute sophisticated analysis, draw insights, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior management as well as AMD customers. Ability to network, establish relationships and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization

Highly organized, able to prioritize and balance multiple work streams to tight deadlines!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Server DDR validation execution leadership across AMD
  • Drive silicon DDR validation, characterization and debug of existing and new microprocessor SOC products
  • Work with cross-organization teams to ensure Silicon/SW/Platform/etc. DDR features are in sync, development is supported, and validation is planned
  • Develop and drive detailed workflow for all development and DDR validation through Phased Validation Process
  • Assure that all responsibilities are clearly defined across the DDR validation team and all relevant and participating organizations
  • Lead sophisticated debug efforts for both internal and external (i.e. customer/partner) findings to identify root cause and resolution
  • Defect prioritization and root-cause resolution plans
  • Drive validated solutions to technical issues and design challenges
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Prior experience leading people and technical teams
  • Experience with server system design and validation
  • Prior experience with testing tools and environments, defect tracking and revision control
  • Experience with computer memory architecture concepts and silicon features.

Academic Credentials:

  • BS or MSEE degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience in new product development from a silicon design, platform design and/or product engineering field.
