Diagnostic Framework Infrastructure Engineer - Austin NCG
 

THE ROLE:

Be part of the world's leading graphics accelerator and compute processor unit teams developing best in class software architecture for the functional and behavior verification of state-of-the-art AMD products. Our organization is responsible for delivering test patterns used for pre and post silicon verification as well as manufacturing screening. This role is in team called "Diagnostic Framework" developing software architectural foundation and platform of AMD IP test development. 

THE PERSON:

We are looking for a passionate, creative, team player, and result oriented engineer who is willing to work in fast pace leading edge technology environment.  

You hold a degree in computer engineering, software engineering, or electrical engineering who is interested in designing and developing software. You have an understanding of PC & OS architecture. You are a proficient C/C++ developer with object oriented design mind. You enjoy solving complex problems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in development of AMD’s next generation test architecture & framework
  • Work with diagnostic SOC & IP leads to understand diagnostic methodology 
  • Implement framework features to enable diagnostic SOC lead & IP engineers to achieve their coverage goals
  • Plan and deliver diagnostic framework deliverables for assigned AMD product
  • Develop and Maintain basic Linux/Windows driver as part of framework architecture
  • Key participation in ASIC bring ups to bring the system to an stable diagnostic environment
  • Participate in debugging test failures to find the root cause
  • Work with the upstream Linux kernel community to present and implement new features in the future kernel 
  • Systems administration and maintenance of Linux build servers
  • Develop continuous integration (CI) infrastructure pipeline for CPU and IO diagnostics

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of multi threaded software in modern C++
  • Knowledge of X86 / GPU or both architectures with an emphasis on hardware interfaces
  • Understanding of software performance analysis, profiling & optimization
  • Understanding of compiler toolchains, debug tools, build environments
  • Scripting languages, Python is preferred
  • Familiar with distributed source controls systems. GIT is preferred
  • Co-op/internship experience in semiconductor industry: Simulators, Emulators & Silicon bring up
  • Familiar with CI tools Buildbot or Jenkins


ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. In EE or CS or equivalent is required
