Be part of the world's leading graphics accelerator and compute processor unit teams developing best in class test programs for the functional and behavior verification of state-of-the-art AMD products. Our organization is responsible for delivering the pre and post-silicon tests used for verification as well as manufacturing screening content. This role is in our team called Framework team developing software architecture for the foundation of our IP test development.



We are looking for a passionate, creative, team player and result oriented engineer who is willing to work in fast pace leading edge technology environment with minimal supervision.  

You hold a software engineering or computer science or equivalent degree with work experience in designing and developing system software, device drivers or equivalent. You have a deep understanding of PC architecture and OS architectures and you are an excellent C++ developer and you have shown a successful track of developing complex software and problem solving.



  • Will be responsible for and lead planning and development/enhancement of diagnostic framework for some of AMD future products
  • Work with SoC architect to understand product diagnostic methodology to enable diagnostic IP engineers to achieve their coverage goals
  • Develop and Maintain basic Linux driver as part of framework architecture
  • Building Linux kernel images and bring up on silicon and optimizing the kernel
  • Key participation in ASIC bring ups to bring the system to stable diagnostic environment
  • Debug OS boot issues on both pre-silicon environment (FPGA, SystemC, Cadence, Mentor Graphics) and post-silicon systems (real ASICs and platforms)
  • Participate in Debug test failures until root cause RTL bug or software bug
  • Work with the upstream Linux kernel community to present and implement new features in the future kernel




  • Solid, successful experience design and development of complex software – Device drivers is preferred
  • Experience with software performance analysis, optimization and low-level programming
  • Familiarity with compiler toolchains, debug tools, build environments
  • Scripting languages, Python or Perl is preferred.
  • Familiar with source controls systems like Perforce, SVN, and Git
  • Hands-on experience with any one of board bring up, SIMD testing is preferred
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry or device driver development is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of x86 architecture with an emphasis on hardware interfaces
  • Strong debug experience with JTAG and GDB to identify critical software bugs
  • Demonstrating cross-functional successful teamwork
