Diagnostics Software Engineer - Distributed Virtual Memory

The Role:

The Diagnostic Engineering team is responsible for function, system, and stress diagnostics software development targeting next generation CPU, APU and dGPU flagship products. We are seeking a self-motivated engineer to develop and debug diagnostics software for validating hardware features of DVM and MPDMA Hardware Accelerator IP blocks which are used in industry leading products by AMD customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop diagnostics software for validation of DVM and MPDMA Hardware IP and Firmware features on pre-silicon platforms (FPGA, Simulation, SOC Emulation, etc.) and post-silicon system (silicon and platform)
  • Participate in full post-silicon validation cycles that include silicon bring-up, diagnostics execution and production support
  • Collaborate with Hardware IP Design, Design Verification, SOC Design, Firmware, IP System Engineering, Validation, Software and Debug Teams to triage, debug and resolve Hardware IP, Firmware, SoC, Platform, Software and Diagnostics issues
  • Provide diagnostics support to external customers and internal engineering teams
  • Improve diagnostics test coverage, diagnostics software development process

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in Embedded Software/Firmware, Diagnostics Software, Design Verification, Driver Software development, validation, and debug
  • Strong mix of large-scale software development ability, hardware understanding and hardware/software interfacing
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming
  • Familiar with source controls tools like Git, Perforce, SVN
  • Hands-on experience with silicon platform bring-up and validation
  • Experience with Cache, Memory or DMA Hardware Accelerator Technology is an asset

Academic Credentials:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Science (CS) or equivalent is preferred
