Director, System Engineering Program Management - 71507

In this role, the candidate will lead a team of experienced program managers to drive the planning, development and execution of Semi-Custom APU products, from hardware through firmware, BIOS and software including debug and validation.  The experienced candidate will develop and lead a strong team of program managers responsible for driving the system solution across a global team of experienced engineers across multiple disciplines.  The candidate will also be responsible for driving operations for the global organization reporting to the Corporate Vice President for Semi-Custom Systems Engineering.  The Director needs to have a strong engineering background with demonstrated leadership to lead and develop strong program managers, ability to develop and enhance processes and procedures for program execution and run overall organizational operations including resource planning and operational management.    

This leader must have excellent collaboration and communication skills including senior executive communications.  They must have a proven track record of leading teams to success. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and develop a team of highly skilled leadership program managers responsible for systems development from concept to product delivery for end-to-end custom solution for semi-custom customers.
  • Define and develop Semi-Custom Design Engineering program management office, responsible for leading work across Engineering, Business and Customer teams to meet overall product and customer objectives.
  • Define and drive operational processes, establish methods for driving innovation, efficiency improvements and repeatability. 
  • Drive culture of innovation, creativity and delivering to commitments on challenging and constantly changing plans. 
  • Develop and refine program development processes to enable successful program execution repeatability.
  • Establish a culture of excellence in program leadership with passion for and experience in developing people, developing structure and driving change and process improvements.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated organizational leader with proven leadership in development engineering and program management roles from the semiconductor industry. 
  • Must have at least 12-15 years relevant working experience and 8-10 years leadership in new product development from a design, platform, product and/or program management discipline.
  • Track record of developing individuals and growing program management teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success working across geographies and cross functional teams.
  • Track record of organizational team development and executive level communications skills.
  • Experience in defining and driving change, new processes and process improvements.
  • Ability to structure and execute complex analysis, draw insights, and communicate summary findings and recommendations to senior management and AMD customers.
  • Ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization.
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines.

 

EDUCATION:

BS or MSEE degree with minimum of 12 years of relevant working experience in a semi-conductor technology-related field and at least 8 years of experience in leadership role.
