DIRECTOR, PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

 

THE ROLE:

The Director, Program Management lead program execution, from concept to product delivery.  The successful incumbent will work in a matrixed environment across Business, Engineering and Operations teams, creating and leading a cross-functional core team comprised of design, technology, supply chain, platform, product, software, ecosystem and business functions.  

 

THE PERSON:

To be successful in this role, you will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and analytical/problem-solving skills to structure and execute complex analysis, draw insight, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior executives and AMD customers.  You have outstanding people leadership skills to lead, motivate, and guide world class engineers and the ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization.  You are highly organized and can prioritize/juggle multiple workstreams to tight deadlines.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director, Program Management will deliver all program commitments from concept to production, which includes the following key responsibilities.

 

  • Define program in concert with Business Teams
  • Review and action new business requests and scope changes agreed to by the core team
  • Drive core team to consensus on technical decisions that impact bounding box
  • Hit cost, schedule, committed features, power, performance
  • Deliver overall messaging of status/issues to key internal/ external stakeholders and customers
  • Tailor the roles of each core team member according to the needs of the program including defining cross functional ownership, and managing effective performance of the core team, and managing the membership to achieve program objectives,

 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant experience in new product development from a design, platform, software, and/or product management discipline
  • Leadership experience both in technical and management roles
  • Strong understanding of the general silicon engineering process (preferably GPU, CPU or APU), from business needs to product concept to tape-out to production
  • Experience driving a multi-site and multi-disciplined engineering program

 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

BS or MSEE degree desired
