Director, Product Management Software


The Role:

The Director, Product Management Software will play a key leadership role within our Client and Graphics Business Unit, leading all aspects of software solutions across gaming, content creation and workstation, desktop, and mobile solutions. This role with work directly with our customers to design and define industry leading software solutions. You will be responsible for leading the product and program management function from concept to delivery, including strategy, financial/resource analysis, forecasting, program management and delivery.

You have outstanding communication and presentation skills, strong analytical/problem-solving and program management skills. You also have outstanding people leadership skills with the ability to network, build relationships, lead change, and drive desired outcomes. You are highly organized and can prioritize/balance multiple workstreams to tight deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the software product management organization including developing the strategy and driving its successful execution
  • Provide market analysis, roadmap strategy recommendations, resourcing and lead execution with full accountability.
  • Utilize technical information from internal and external sources to develop an advantaged and industry-leading product roadmap and strategy with differentiated features.
  • Work closely with AMD Engineering teams to improve product performance, innovation, and competitive positioning.
  • Build and maintain a roadmap of products, enhancements, and offerings that will lead to improved market competitiveness and ultimate growth.
  • Identify market trends and potential partner or acquisition targets to maximize capabilities and products
  • Work closely with Marketing group to align product strategy to appropriate markets for optimum in-market execution and success


Preferred Experience:

  • At least 15 years' proven experience in Product Marketing, Product Management and/or Business Development within a high-tech, processor, graphics, gaming hardware or PC company
  • At least 20 years of industry experience
  • Outstanding communication skills to convey concepts and compelling proposals at all levels of the company from C-level executives to working level peers
  • Experience working with micro-processors and/or discrete graphics
  • Experience developing software products and solutions for global consumer markets
  • Experience with market analysis and technology road-mapping
  • Experience successfully running a P&L for a business vertical
  • Consistent track record of innovation


Academic Credentials:

  • Undergraduate or Master’s degree in relevant field
