Director of Server System Compatibility
The Role
AMD is looking for a Director of Server System Compatibility join our Datacenter System Architecture and Engineering team to develop world-class products around EPYC processors. In this impactful role you will engage with multiple teams at AMD as well as customers and partners to drive the current and future state ecosystem surroundin our EPYC processors.
The Person
In this role, you will collaborate with AMD internal and industry team to understand Evaluation, ensure Interop, Compliance, Compatibility & Co-validation to support the technology development and execution of AMD EPYC Server platforms and solutions across HPC, Cloud and Enterprise market segments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for exploration of available solutions, technologies, timeline, and initial evaluation Ensures products conform to standards and specifications. Exploration of available solutions, technologies, timeline, and initial evaluation. Assessment of the required Platform/HW/SW/FW stack, TCO, validation scope. Recommendation for eco-co-creation or POC with specific vendor/OEM/provider
- Assures Interoperability of AMD Platform & Technology solutions with 3rd party and IHV devices. Develop measurement tools to evaluate device characteristics. POC interop & evaluation
- Contribute to the development of Compliance Test Suites. Deliver Golden Systems for Industry Compliance.
- Identify a list of platform compatibility requirements (including software/hardware etc.) and ensure that the platforms pass the compatibility requirements.
- Engage with customers for capturing customer specific boards/configurations or scale of system topologies that cannot be replicated or available on AMD test premises and developing co-validation executable plans to feed into the cluster level validation infrastructure build up at AMD.
Preferred experience:
- Demonstrated ability to engage with multiple constituents across the ecosystem and build partnerships and consensus to productize new technologies.
- Ability to execute complex analysis on ecosystem, draw insights, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior management as well as AMD customers and partners
- Demonstrated experience networking, building relationships, and influencing decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the AMD as well among ecosystems customers and partners
- Technical Marketing experience in the semiconductor industry preferred
- Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines
- Strong analytical skills
Academic credentials:
- BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field
