Director Planning, Client Business Unit

The Role:

The Director of Planning joins the Client BU leadership team to set demand planning strategy and drive execution for a growing, multi-billion-dollar business. AMD is a performance leader has been on a dramatic growth trajectory for the past several years and for the foreseeable future. Come join our team!

The Person:

The successful candidate is a change agent who will bring in best in class demand planning and supply chain execution. She/he is a process-oriented leader that will elevate outcomes by assessing the current state / framework and championing innovative solutions to optimize revenue, margin and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehend the P&L impacts of supply decisions
  • Optimize product mix to meet and exceed margin and revenue targets
  • Operationalize the Client BU strategy for demand planning on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly cadence
  • Key liaison between the BU and the various supply chain operations partners from suppliers, foundry partners, other internal constituents, etc.
  • Influence outcomes in a matrixed environment
  • Determine KPIs and leading indicators and implement dashboards to drive the business and achieve transparency to stakeholders
  • Establish the most efficient and forward-thinking processes that delights our customers and scales the business
  • Regularly report / articulate progress and outcomes to BU leadership and other internal teams

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior demonstrated results in a high-impact, Demand Planning role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Validated expertise in Supply Chain Operations
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, scenario planning and statistical modeling
  • Ability to influence and inspire
  • Proven track record building and leading successful teams
  • Organized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditions
  • Ability to work well in high pressure situations to meet deliverables

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, Master’s preferred
