Director of Industry Analyst Relations

The Role:

AMD is looking for a candidate to lead the Industry Analyst Relations function and team. Industry analysts are a critical audience in building a company’s reputation within target industries. In this role, you will build and maintain strong relationships with analyst influencers to deliver our agenda and perspective and ensure the AMD business is correctly amplified within key markets. This role will leverage and enhance engagement with industry analysts and align deeply with company priorities while partnering closely with other leaders in the communications team responsible for internal, executive, social, and product communications. You will set the agenda for strategic analyst engagement to enable powerful advocacy, drive proactive analyst engagements, create efficiencies, and put into action best practices to streamline day-to-day program management, to strengthen the company’s analyst reputation while positioning AMD as an industry leader enabling the future of high-performance computing.

The Person:

  • Experience working with and counseling C-level executives on all aspects of industry analyst engagements and communications
  • Ability to establish and build lasting, knowledge-sharing relationships with analysts in an integrated communications strategy that supports AMD’s business objectives, working collaboratively across the global communications organization
  • Demonstrated strong comprehension of industry analyst communications
  • Passion for technology and the role high-performance computing plays in shaping the future
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding working environment
  • Successfully manage change, resolve conflicts and ensure collaboration within teams and across broader internal stakeholder organizations
  • Strong project management and time management skills with an ability to lead several projects at once

Key Responsibilities:

  • Industry analyst relations, acting as the key point of contact for all analyst inquiries and issues across key analyst influencers, and ongoing counsel on AR practices and activities
  • Expand AMD’s global analyst community to increase engagement with this key audience to build and improve AMD awareness
  • Raise company and executive visibility among influencers through interactions with analysts, prioritized based on their visibility, coverage areas, and market impact
  • Engage in two-way conversations to understand how analysts view the market and the AMD business, driving positive inclusion in signature analyst reports
  • Consistent prioritization of strategic and tactical activities, including the development of analyst strategies with the goal of increasing AMD brand awareness with commercial, consumer, enthusiast, and IT decision-makers
  • Cross-functional engagement across corporate marketing and business units/sales for improved coordination and overall AMD success
  • Understanding AMD’s business requirements in real-time, leading strategic discussions with key stakeholders
  • Drive analyst evangelism that ensures our differentiated brand, technology, and momentum are clearly communicated across analyst influencers as a part of strengthening corporate reputation and brand visibility
  • Management and support of analyst events to deepen overall engagement, including fireside chats, roundtables, and dedicated analyst events, as well as critical analyst inclusion in launch and momentum activities
  • Partnering with the global communications team to develop strategies supporting key issues and initiatives, including message testing and early analyst insights for campaigns and go-to-market initiatives
  • Defining metrics and managing reporting, results in analysis and distribution of all key communications metrics to bring key insights and efficiency to the organization.

Preferred Experience:

  • Capability to evolve the Industry Analyst Relations function based on company growth to best promote AMD brand reputation
  • Translate complex technical and business issues into simplified messaging for internal and external audiences
  • Write and prepare materials, including internal newsletters, customized updates for analysts, and content for AMD-owned channels
  • Up to 20% travel may be required, including international
