The Role:

AMD is searching for a Supply Chain leader to drive the S&OP Process and lead the Capacity and Materials Planning teams.  This role influences decisions from product introduction to end of life, ensuring that we meet customer demand, and business cost and revenue goals. The new leader will be accountable for assessing business forecasts, planning and scheduling capacity and materials starts, assessing and mitigating risks pertaining to products across business units and will manage a team responsible for planning and execution of the capacity and materials plans.

 

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and collaborative problem-solving skills.  A big-picture, strategic perspective is required as trade-off scenarios and risks will regularly be communicated with C-level management and external contacts regarding supply chain and financial matters.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales and Business Units to facilitate S&OP and long-range planning processes;
  • Partner with suppliers to establish a robust capacity network aligned to the long-range plan;
  • Highlight risks, gaps, and opportunities within the supply chain;
  • Manage and execute the AMD production capital budget and oversee the budgeting and execution of capacity expansion at AMD’s suppliers;
  • Manage diverse and global supply chain (including direct materials, manufacturing and component suppliers) to meet business targets;
  • Oversee inventory control to support customer needs, achieve balance sheet targets, and mitigate inventory risk;
  • Work closely with the Business Unit and Engineering teams to lead and develop opportunities to strengthen the supply chain;
  • Work closely with finance to manage corporate policies in areas of inventory and capital procurement;
  • Identify, develop and retain world-class talent across AMD global sites.

 

 Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree:  Specialty in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering with MBA preferred;
  • Multi-source supplier network & outsourced manufacturing experience;
  • Demonstrated successful experience at a senior manager level with broad supply chain responsibilities;
  • Progressive responsibility in Supply Planning, Materials, Product Development, Procurement, and Logistics;
  • Experience in ERP initiatives, Advanced Planning Systems, and familiarity with a broad variety of supply chain concepts, practices, and procedures and specific expertise in global supply chain.
