Embedded IP Architect

 

THE ROLE:

The IP architect will play key role of ensuring AMD Embedded SoC / dGPU IP address critical Embedded market segment (Networking, Storage, Automotive, Thin client) requirements performing the below:

  • Map & maintain AMD Embedded SoC / dGPU product IP roadmap
  • Define IP roadmap of key Embedded features like Ethernet, NTB, NVDIMM, NVME hot-plug, Graphics / Display, Machine Learning, ISP etc
  • Influence AMD product generations working with core silicon teams and ensuring Embedded requirements are captured (via Jama)
  • Working with vertical marketing & product teams to understand key IP gaps and help address in future products
  • Work with IP architects in T&E group in conjunction with Embedded segment architects to meet product requirements
  • Collaborate with third party IP vendors by closely monitoring IP evolution and assess impact to Embedded customers
  • Influence ecosystem partners for Embedded roadmap alignment
  • Provide key IP requirement / enhancement inputs pertaining to focused Embedded markets
  • Assist IP validation & platform teams in understanding specific IP, validation steps and triaging IP issues
  • Assist customer support team in addressing any IP related queries

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own Embedded SoC / dGPU IP roadmap including special Embedded features (Ethernet, NTB, NVDIMM, NVME hot-plug, Graphics / Display, Machine Leaning)
  • Ensure Embedded IP requirements are addressed in future products by participating in server/client BU and other core team meetings
  • Major stakeholder in Product functional / architecture specification
  • Influence TRD to ensure maximum coverage of Embedded IPs and review platform design to ensure the requirements are met
  • Influence other BU platform designs so as to be leveraged for Embedded product validation if needed
  • Define product / IP emulation plan and guide validation progress
  • Assess silicon bugs and its impact on Embedded market along with assessing fix / workaround
  • Drive meetings with Silicon teams for updates, EMB requirements and watch IP changes across the board
  • Build relationship with industry vendors and ensure hardware ecosystem alignment for AMD Embedded product roadmap

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated SoC IP experience
  • Good understanding and experience with IPs enabling Embedded features -  Ethernet, UMC, NTB, NVDIMM, NVME hot-plug, Graphics / Display, Machine Leaning
  • SoC process & packaging understanding
  • Prior experience working with IP emulation
  • Platform design knowledge
  • ASIC / FPGA knowledge
  • Firmware / Software stack understanding is a plus
  • Excellent communication and articulation skills
  • Leadership experience is a plus

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors degree in Electronics engineering from reputed college
  • Master degree (VLSI is a big plus) from reputed university
