About the Department:
Foundry Technology Operations (FTO) interfaces between AMD’s foundry partners and product design. FTO ensures design teams have technology inputs enabling circuit design, characterization and physical design (layout). FTO Tape Out Execution (FTO TOE) facilitates AMD product tape outs and package database releases. FTO Design for Manufacturability (FTO DFM) ensures high quality physical design leveraging pattern analysis and machine learning to detect and eliminate risky layout topologies, improving product yields and collaborating on SOC debug. FTO enables emerging technologies in silicon and package technology and FTO TOE and FTO DFM engineers are industry-leading.

Job Purpose:

This position will deliver elements of design enablement in state-of-the-art technologies including layout guidelines and corresponding verification and FTO TOE and FTO DFM workflow enhancements. As a member of the team, you will have deliverables to support both our near-term deliverables as well as long-term improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with FTO engineers on tape out process flow enhancements.

2. Collaborate on innovation of new systems such as product mask tracking process and recording.

3. Learn and contribute toward layout pattern analysis with ML application to predict potential risk topologies in silicon.

Skills and Experience (requirements in one or more of these areas):
- Strong problem-solving skills

- Experience with PERL, Python, TCL

- Understanding of semi-conductor physical and electrical design process

- Some experience in area of physical design and physical verification

- Strong organizational and communication skills, and a hunger to learn

- Willingness and interest to work in a dynamic, high-energy atmosphere with results that directly impact AMD’s success
