At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible.  We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.

Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the “extra mile” to achieve unthinkable results.  It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world.   If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.

Fellow, Validation Architecture

The top technical role for server end-to-end validation with broad responsibilities including debug and test coverage strategies, validation infrastructure architecture (DFx, exercisers), test case planning/implementation/execution, “at scale” quality assurance (prevent/detect/survive) methodologies, design for validation approaches, and shift left leadership (emulation, bring-up readiness).

  • Experience in architecting validation infrastructure for coverage from silicon/FW DFx to board level exercisers
  • Deep knowledge of CPU/system architecture and design including CPU, SOC, memory, I/O, boot process, FW and HW
  • Master debug skills with track record of debugging complex issues to root cause and workaround implementation
  • Proven ability to scale capabilities through role modeling and mentoring others.

  • Define validation content framework for server CPU family targeted for volume validation (aka farm, cluster) usage.
  • Drives portfolio of validation tools and infrastructure with hands on architecture and implementation as required.
  • Master debugger and debug strategist working closely with design, validation, firmware, and central debug teams.
  • Owns coverage priorities for execution farms to balance between architectural, electrical, and mfg quality needs.
  • Guides customer validation engagements to complement internal coverage.
  • Directs individual FETs to ensure bringup and volume validation readiness and most efficient path to stable solution.
