Senior Security Firmware Lead

The Role:

The Software Security Engineering group is responsible for development and enablement of Platform and Content security features across the software stack, including device drivers, firmware, and application level interfaces. The group is responsible for supporting the entire range of AMD products including APUs, CPUs and GPUs, enabling customers to build competitive solutions.

The Person:

As a senior technical leader within the Software Security Engineering group, you will engage with hardware and software engineering teams, architects and customers to drive enablement of security centric features across the entire range of AMD products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design and implement firmware and device drivers enabling wide range of security features
  • Support development of new hardware and software features within pre & post silicon environments
  • Collaborate with customers and partners on new initiatives, resolve technical challenges by aligning efforts across engineering teams and business units within AMD
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developers, program managers and executives
  • Make recommendations and refine SW engineering processes to improve quality and efficiency
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends within the security domain, through participation in relevant work groups

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience within the semiconductor domain with specialization in security
  • Proven understanding of security principles, applied cryptographic algorithms, security protocols and DRM
  • Specialist in OS kernel/driver design and implementation with one or more operating systems
  • Skilled embedded firmware and/or device driver development on ARM or x86
  • Experienced in assembly level instruction sets: AMD64 or ARM Experience with technologies including as Secure Boot, TEE, TPM and Virtualization
  • Proficient with secure software development lifecycle process
  • Proficient in software engineering practices to drive timely execution and long-term sustainability
  • Ability to work independently under tight schedule, responding to changing business conditions with minimal direction
  • Excellent communications skills: verbal, written and interpersonal

Academic Credentials:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject area
