Successful candidate will work on developing post-silicon validation software for verifying complex features of the next generation AMD microprocessors as part of the AMD CPU Diagnostics group. The candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of microprocessor (x86, PowerPC, or ARM) micro-architecture and should have proven skills in design and development of software for testing low-level microprocessor functionality. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of the various blocks of a typical processor Core, for example: Cache, Instruction Fetch-Branch Prediction unit, Load Store Unit, Decode Unit, FPU, uCODE unit; and preferably should have previous experience in developing software targeted for verifying 1 or more of these blocks.

 

Required skills:

·        Experience developing low level and/embedded software.

·        Experience with assembly language programming (x86 or ARM).

·        Fluent in C and C++ and one or more scripting languages.

·        Experience using industry standard simulation/design verification tools and methodologies (UVM/OVM)

·        In-depth knowledge of x86/PowerPC/Arm Processor Architecture (ISA & micro-architecture).

·        Experience in validation methodologies, post-silicon test processes and methods and in debugging microprocessor issues using JTAG based debugging tools and traces.

·        Experience in development of tools which help in stressing different features of a processor.

·        Experience debugging complex system level problems including but not limited to silicon and/or platform issues.

·        Great communicator with experience in providing technical leadership within a team of engineers.

 

Candidate should possess a bachelor degree or higher in Computer Engineering (preferred), Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field from a reputed university (no online programs) and should have a minimum 2-5 years of experience in processor validation/system testing domain.
