Global Commercial Sales Development Manager- 72631


AMD is looking for a passionate and experienced individual that is skilled at developing and empowering others to succeed.  The Global Commercial Sales Development Manager position will help AMD drive a new era of computing for the commercial market.  The role is strategic to helping grow AMD as it will lead efforts in training and empowering AMD sales reps internally, and AMD partners externally.  The role will reside within the AMD global sales organization, with the mission to create content and deliverables tailored for the specific and specialized needs for the individuals selling AMD products.  The position will create the structure for the program including interface, tools, and methods of communication. 


This individual will be responsible for numerous program management responsibilities including managing budgets, timelines, and training curriculums.  The training content will be a range from foundational direction needed for onboarding new AMD sales reps, to training on more complex commercial workloads in the datacenter.  The sales development role will require cross functional leadership and communication, taking inputs and feedback from AMD Business Units, Marketing Teams, Sales Teams, and Customer Field Support Reps.  It will also require a keen understanding of what commercial end users care about, so we can better influence them, build awareness, and ultimately consideration and preference for buying AMD commercial solutions.  The role may include people management, but will primarily demand the leader be directly and intimately involved in driving forward sales development responsibilities. 


Candidate Responsibilites:

  • Broaden or add more structured training & development for AMD Commercial Sales Teams
  • Obtain sales certifications across tiered training, ranging from onboarding to advanced workloads
  • Produce finely tuned content and proof points tailored for commercial end users
  • Oversee Program Management needs related to development and training
  • Ensure content is tailored to specific needs of AMD BDEs across the mega-regions (Americas, EMEA, India, APJ, Greater China), and across AMD commercial products (server, commercial client, professional graphics)
  • Expand training certification programs/tools to use externally to train AMD channel partners, OEM partners in how to sell and optimize AMD products


Preferrd Experience:

  • The preferred candidate should have a combination of relevant academic and professional experience. The preferred qualifications associated with this position are BS with 10+ years of experience, or advanced degree with 8+ years of experience.
  • Preferred degree is technology related bachelor's degree or other technical discipline (e.g. Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent combination of training and experience with technology.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: CPU and server system architecture, server and client benchmarks, commercial end users.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with numerous different stakeholders within AMD, as well as customer interface skills.
  • Program management experience and ability to demonstrate the capability to manage big programs involving both technology and business topics.
  • Team player with excellent collaborative skills and superior written and oral communication skills


Preferred Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Understanding of the commercial market, ranging from corporate enterprise and government customers, small and medium business, as well as commercial channel partners and VARs. 
  • Knowledge of technology sold in the commercial market server and client CPUs and workstation GPUs, as many training programs will be technical in nature. 
  • Great communication, presentation skills, and program management experience essential for success.
