Global Sales Strategy and Planning Manager

 

The Role:

We are looking for our next team member, reporting directly to the Manager of Sales Strategy and Planning, to drive growth in AMD’s consumer client business. As a member of the global sales strategy team, this role will need to collaborate with regional sales leadership, marketing, legal, IT, and the consumer client business unit to increase market share and revenue through partner incentive programs. Analyze and identify market opportunities, co-develop GTM segment strategies with regional leadership/OEMs, build go-to-market KPIs, and ensure coordinated execution between the Sales, Business Unit, Marketing and Finance teams.

Business, industry, and sales acumen within the Consumer Client PC space is critical; familiarity with the dynamics of a sales environment and culture is imperative.

  • Program & Budget Management: Proven success leading all aspects of large sales incentive and marketing programs
  • Strategic Approach: Leadership across the Client PC space, where you’ll be looked to as the SME for GTM strategy. Having a pulse on the market, a deep understanding of the sales cycle/processes and a proven track record of structuring and conducting analyses to generate insight and recommendations to increase sales/market share.
  • Follow Through: The ability to power through daily challenges to execute and finish the job. Ability to achieve quick results within established timelines.
  • Execution: Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and grow them to completion, with a wide range of stakeholders and tight timelines. This is a fast-paced role that requires quick action, constant communication, and never-ending drive for improvement.
  • Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills; able to connect with a wide range of audiences, including executives, customers, and non-sales organizations such as finance, marketing, and legal to convey key information in an easily understood message.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide dynamic design of compelling incentives from inception, financial modeling/approvals through to system requirements for all partner types
  • Develop KPIs and communicate incentive performance to stakeholders at all levels
  • Engage regularly with business partners across IT, marketing, legal, and the business unit to ensure programs are adequately funded and operating optimally
  • Expand AMD’s business in the Consumer Channel, working with Sales, Marketing and Channel Partners (Retailers, Distributors and NSP’s/VARs) to grow AMD’s volume in the channel through a combination of product, sales, and marketing improvements
  • Analyzing market data and creating reporting that leads to go forward strategies
  • Create the business planning framework to build business goals, align on go-to-market activities & investments, and track measurement of critical metrics
  • Execute sales strategies for targeted growth in the Consumer PC Market, through collaboration with regional sales and marketing teams
  • Oversee and track sales programs and budgeted investment dollars
  • Strike the balance between influencing the desired behaviors across the sales team, while enforcing governance and good disciplines when required

 

Preferred Experience:

  • INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE: proven experience in program management, partner development, or channel sales roles in the consumer client technology market
  • PAST ROLES: Sales Strategy & Business Planning supporting global sales teams (and/or Sales Ops/Support roles)
  • CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE: Channel Partner (OEM, Retailer, Distributor, NSP/VAR)

 

Academic Credentials:

BS/MS degree in Business; MBA or equivalent working experience is a plus
