HPC/Machine Learning Application Development and Test



You will be part of a critical taskforce group being established to help accelerate the bring-up of key applications and libraries to verify our GPU datacenter hardware. This role exists inside a fast-growing team that is expanding AMD’s GPU Datacenter and Accelerated Processing capability.

This will be a hands-on role but with visibility as this work is a critical path item.


Specifically, you will work with a team to take key applications/libraries and compile/build and run on our systems. This will also entail first level triage and debug if issues arise working closely with SW and HW teams to quickly enable the software.


You will get the opportunity to interact with SW/HW architects, designers, and test people along with executive visibility. It will be fast-paced environment with challenges but opportunities to shine. The product we are working on will go into a high visibility Super Computer called Frontier.



The ideal candidate is technically inquisitive and has initiative. Someone who is strong technically with problem-solving skills and has the ability to collaborate with others. You are not shy in working with others to overcome challenges and issues.



  • Take specific applications/libraries for HPC/ML and work with the core group to compile/build code and run on new Datacenter hardware for critical new CPU/GPU product
  • Extend existing tools/applications to drive complex stress testing on our Datacenter CPU/GPU system
  • Innovate with hardware/software teams to develop new application capabilities and drive innovative test solutions
  • Work with the hardware validation teams to expand exercisers



  • Versed in using Linux OS
  • Adept and experienced in C/C++ Programming
  • Python scripting a plus
  • Experience compiling and building applications
  • Experience with debug utilities like GDB (UMR)
  • Demonstrated skill in application debug
  • Hands on experience working on server systems
  • Experience using GPUs a plus
  • Experience with HPC or Machine Learning libraries and applications a plus



  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
