IT Business Analyst (Supply Chain)

 

THE ROLE:

The IT Business Analyst (BA) will support improvement initiatives for the Global Operations, Supply Chain and Quality roadmap, ensuring it aligns with the core goals and strategic priorities of the company.  The IT Business Analyst will interact directly with key stakeholders in the business and play an instrumental role in defining and managing business requirements.  The IT Business Analyst will also work closely with the Development and Technical teams to drive successful execution of IT projects and enhancements. This role is in Austin, Texas.  Candidates must be willing to relocate themselves, if not local.

 

THE PERSON:

The position requires a broad range of skills and the ability to step in to different roles depending on the size and scope of an engagement. A systems implementation background and/or general consulting skills will be very helpful. 
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide research assistance and clarity of business demand specifications. Bridge gap between business and IT ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment. Coordinate the business subject matter experts’ involvement in all aspects of the project.
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs. Document requirements, define scope and objectives, and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies.
  • Bring business acumen to the management of requirements (e.g. I understand what AMD is trying to achieve).
  • Beyond just capturing business requirements, tie requirements to decisions that need to be made and to strategic objectives, or corporate KPI’s.
  • Build Use Cases around collected requirements and map into test scenarios. Transition requirements to test cases to provide traceability.
  • Analyze the results of system and integrated testing in conjunction with the business to ensure all business requirements are met. Conduct unit and integration tests.
  • Support conversion including data migration, and production cutover efforts.
  • Ensure proper user training is provided and support business users in timely issue resolution.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience with business requirements development and governance ; functional knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing very beneficial.
  • Firsthand experience in business requirements gathering.
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to build and evaluate business cases for operational improvements and understand how technology can be leveraged to accelerate operational improvements.
  • Understands the larger, end to end business process that solutions fits into.
  • Willing to challenge requirements based on an understanding of prioritized objectives.
  • Demonstrate expertise in a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Custom development solutions hosted on premise or in the Cloud. 
  • May provide consultation on complex projects. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Good communication skills and global project experience.

 

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience working within a Supply Chain, Manufacturing and/or Quality
  • Experience in High-Tech industry
  • Experience in leading/managing projects
  • Experience in SAP Sales & Distribution, Materials Management, Production Planning, GTS, SRM, Ariba

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent strongly preferred.
