Lab System Validation and Power Engineer


The Role

As a Sr. Systems Design Engineer, you will lead and be part of the validation team validating state of art systems. This is a very dynamic and fast-paced engineering environment where you will be leading and participating in a wide variety of challenging product development projects.

Your responsibility is to technically lead the validation of system and board hardware, with demonstrated capability to closely work with power supply designs, to create/validate board schematics, to review PCB layouts, to evaluate components/circuits, to drive product bring-up, to support qualification, and to ensure smooth volume production within the given schedule.  This position will be focused on product validation for the enterprise and workstation markets.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate would be responsible in supporting the analysis and verification of

digitally controlled high-performance Voltage Regulators, I2C debug, and other aspects of a graphic card/gpu based compute cards. The role’s responsibilities include:


  1. Creating card/system level validation plans and execution.
  2. Capturing and documenting the power requirements of new generation GPU’s
  3. Reviewing converter topologies and validating selected power components like PWM controllers, power transistors and passive filter elements such as magnetics and capacitors;
  4. Executing extensive preliminary design validation
  5. Preparing schematics as well as working with PCB layout and mechanical teams in developing robust implementations ( good to Have Skills)
  6. debugging new designs and identifying compliance to original specifications by comprehensive laboratory work executed in the context of exhaustive test plans.
  7. Supporting other teams with power-related issues during the characterization and launch phases of new graphics cards.

Skills And Experience Requirements

  1. Experience in Power converter design
  2. Excellent understanding in the fundamentals of power electronics with special emphasis on multiphase power converters
  3. Demonstrated ability to work with oscilloscopes, multi-meters, current probes, electronic loads, and protocol analyzers as well as adept at intuitive reasoning to explain and correct unexpected results
  4. Proficient at documenting experimental results in a structured manner for ease of reference
  5. Ability to use circuit simulations tools such as PSPICE, LTSPICE, and SIMPLIS



MSEE preferred.
