Lead Mobile System Architect – 78685

 

THE ROLE

 

AMD is looking for a Lead Mobile System Architect to drive execution and delivery of client mobile product requirements which include areas such as performance optimization, power management and definition & development of system features, use cases and the product requirement specifications. In addition, this person will also define the OPNs and associated fuse maps.  This is a lead role of which will lead a team of Mobile System Architects.

 

THE PERSON

 

Articulate and self-motivated contributor with 10 years of PC platform experience as a systems architect able to drive technical and executive level conversations and lead a team of highly strategic resources. Your experience should cover the entire PC system solution including hardware, software, firmware and all system peripherals.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Primary technical contact point for the program.
  • Responsible for the product features and capabilities (such as performance and power manageability) from the pins looking in to the silicon to ensure that the accepted marketing product requirements are met.
  • Comprehends the SOC as a complete system which includes HW (silicon & platform), FW, BIOS & SW
  • Ensures that FW, BIOS & SW are aligned to enable SOC and system features
  • Knowledgeable and contributes to the platform architecture and system features.
  • Ensures that the required Use Cases are achieved
  • Responsible for any marketing change requests or any changes to the requirements to be negotiated between the BU and the design team to reach a solution that both sides agree.
  • Responsible for technical accuracy of product disclosures
  • Responsible to quantify impact of bugs and feature / performance goals.
  • Is not expected to be the expert in all areas but is tightly linked to the other architects and technical leads for the program.
  • Drives the system features and solutions to be architected and delivered for the program

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

  • Must have 10+years of PC and/or tablet experience with demonstrable innovations
  • Knowledgeable on the architecture of the PC platform for x86 based platforms
  • Familiar with the interface industry standards specifications defined to improve power manageability
  • Understand silicon process technologies and the tools to project power & performance of the SOC
  • Requires a mixture of Silicon and System Board Experience
  • Experience with PC software and hardware
  • Excellent communicator and team leader

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

Bachelors or master’s degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
