RTL Design Engineer

The Position


Do you love innovating new logic design ideas and feature improvements? Do you like to get into the details while also seeing the big picture? As an experienced RTL logic design engineer, you will contribute to our robust roadmap for advanced mobile and server cores by bringing your specialized expertise to our focused and dedicated Pervasive Logic team in Austin. Our team does not simply tick tock along the roadmap. Our team gets to see the big picture make a big impact because we are responsible for the power management, thermal management, clock control, software-performance monitoring, trace analysis, and so forth for next-generation microprocessor design and AMD’s award-winning “Zen” high-performance x86 CPU family.


Specific Responsibilities:


Perform RTL design and coding involving Clocking, Reset, Power Domains, and Interface logic

Enable and coordinate complex IP integrations into the SoC

Facilitate design closure by driving CDC analysis and Static Power checks

Work with a team of hardware and software engineers to define the high-level microarchitecture

Work with Physical Design and Verification engineers to deliver high-quality, high-performance, and power-efficient designs



The Person

This Member of Technical Staff level engineer on the Cores team will ideally have the following experience and attributes:


Demonstrate success in a comparable technical role on a product team doing logic design for IP delivery

Show work in recent projects giving familiarity of power management and clocking for low-power microarchitecture

Demonstrate understanding of design methodology and high-performance microarchitecture

Evidence their comfort collaborating in a cross-team environment

Showcase technical strengths with Verilog or VHDL




The candidate will have a Bachelors's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

A Bachelors's degree requires a minimum of 6 years of experience.  A Master's degree requires a minimum of 4 years of experience.
