Server Performance Architect

 
The Role:

Our Server Performance Group is comprised of performance architects who analyze and optimize high-performance System-on-a-Chip (SoC) designs for Cloud computing, machine intelligence acceleration, and immersive mobile processing. We tackle the most complex and exciting challenges in the computing industry.

This opportunity puts you at the heart of the action where you will communicate, propose, and implement solutions to processor and system performance issues through multi-discipline interactions with microprocessor architects, ISA definition owners, software optimizers, compiler team, logic designers, and verification engineers to identify, resolve and document architectural performance issues.

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead microarchitecture exploration, performance modeling, and analysis for SoC designs that include next-generation CPU cores, memory technologies, scalable interconnects, and quality-of-service.
  • Be responsible for some of the following: micro-benchmarking, workload characterization, competitive analysis, bottleneck identification, and optimization due to your experience and understanding design architecture. 
  • Propose solutions to enhance performance by communicating, proposing, and implementing solutions to processor and system performance issues.

 
Preferred Experience:

  • CPU, GPU, or computer system microarchitecture
  • Development and usage of computer system performance models
  • Computer workload analysis
  • Strong programming skills, including experience with C++ and Python (or similar)
  • Minimum of BS + 8 years or MS + 6 years or PhD + 2 years plus mastery of principles of microarchitecture and performance architecture 

 
Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field
  • Masters or PhD with emphasis on computer architecture preferred
