The AMD Server Platform Design Team is seeking an experienced engineer for PCB-based logic design centered on current and future PC architectures; specifically, hardware for debug, validation and testing of AMD microprocessors and chipsets.  You will also be responsible for debug, productization, and support of our designs.  Additionally, you will be a key contributor for supporting customer system designs.  The Server Design Team fosters and encourages technical innovation as well as facilitates continuous career development. To be successful in this role, you will be a team player and have excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal and customer facing interactions. You will also have great leadership skills, providing technical expertise for less experienced engineers. 



  • Support product engineering in resolving customer problems which requires system-level expertise
  • Provide debug, applications support, and design assistance to customers, field applications, and sales
  • Develop comprehensive specifications for board-level and system-level products, based on a clear understanding of the function to be demonstrated
  • Design board-level products using industry-standard CAD tools  
  • Debug prototypes in order to achieve production-worthy products  
  • Oversee the manufacturing process at outside vendors  
  • Write and review detailed technical documentation



  • Experience in a customer environment, knowledge of specific customer applications and demonstrated technical expertise in the area of system-level design
  • Excellent debugging skills at the SoC and system level
  • Extensive experience with engineering lab equipment, oscilloscopes, signal generators, DC power supplies, etc.



  • Bachelor or Master's degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science and 2-4 years experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
