Memory Systems Validation & Debug Engineer 113681


The Role:

The AMD Client and Graphics Business Unit (CGE) is looking for a dynamic, energetic Memory Systems Engineer to join our growing team passionate about DDR4, LPDDR4x, and future memory technologies. As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s product portfolio, you will be part of a high-performance AMD team driving the delivery of high quality, industry leading product technology to market. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop technical test plans to support platform level silicon bring-up and the validation execution of DDR4 and LPDDR4/4x memory subsystem in partnership with memory controller and PHY designers, BIOS developers, and platform design engineers.
  • Execute electrical and functional DDR4 and LPDDR4x memory sub-system test plans as part of a technical platform team to verify silicon and system functionality to product specification using hardware and software validation tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Develop scripts and tools to support system memory silicon validation, characterization, and analysis.
  • Analyze electrical and functional test data to drive into production SOC and system solution decisions.
  • Debug of system memory issues found during pre-silicon emulation, bring up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in system memory validation and / or SOC IP electrical characterization, preferably in DDR4/LPDDR4x
  • Technical expertise in the development and execution of platform level electrical and functional test plans.
  • Experience in software development including using languages such as Python & Ruby to be in test plan development & execution
  • Experience in the debug of I/O interfaces such as DDR4 and LPDDR4/4x
  • In-depth knowledge of PC architectures and system technologies.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, reading schematics and layout design files used in analysis and debug.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, working with a variety of engineering teams and management.


Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
