Hey Austin! We have an exciting entry-level opportunity for a new college graduate to join our Global Network Team right here in the promise-land. You will help support our campus in Austin, TX and you will also help drive improved networking solutions globally. Come get your hands on advanced Cisco, Aruba and HPE systems and bring your ambition, problem-solving ability, analytical mindset and investigative skills. 


The Role:

  • Perform first-level problem resolution of reported network Incidents and escalate to L2/L3 staff as required
  • Follow established Incident, Change and Problem management processes in order to meet agreed upon SLA’s and propose improvements that can improve resolution time
  • Understand networking best practices and apply them for both new requests and incidents
  • Execute network hardware and software upgrades across the globe to make sure that the network is up-to-date while minimizing network interruptions
  • Perform regular network failover testing to validate network redundancy is configured correctly and operational
  • Complete requests and resolve issues in a secure fashion that meets AMD security policies and procedures
  • Manage and maintain network tools appropriately so that they are delivering the value and automation that is expected of them
  • Create and maintain network documentation and knowledgebase that is up-to-date, accurate, and capable of reducing the time to resolution of incidents


The Person:

  • 0-2 years of experience in Networking. 
  • Demonstrated problem solving, analytical and investigative skills 
  • Strong communication skills - oral, written and presentation. 
  • Introductory knowledge in some of the following technologies and domains:
    • Campus LAN and Wireless Access
    • Data Center Networking (Cisco Nexus, HP/H3C Comware)
    • WAN Routing and Acceleration
    • QoS across all LAN, WAN, Wireless domains to support Voice and Video
    • Internet routing
    • VPN Remote Access solutions
    • DNS/DHCP
    • Load-Balancing
    • Network Performance Monitoring
