New Production Capacity Programs Manager

The Role:

  • Your involvement will be substantial within AMD’s extended supply chain as the Manager of New Production Capacity Programs group to communicate direction and schedules with Procurement, Production Operations, and engineering teams, as well as coordinate with suppliers. Further responsibilities will include active engagement with strategic planning and ownership of internal product development capacity expansion plans.
  • The Global Operations team is constantly driving process improvement. You will provide suggestions to improve substrate capacity footprint, including tools and reports. We as a team aspire to move the needle and make a difference.

The Person:

  • Experience in High-Tech substrate environment and strong analytical skills.
  • Proven track record of driving cross-functional team members with interpersonal skills to achieve mutually acceptable solution for any problem on hand.
  • Possess the sense of urgency to proactively implement creative but effective solutions with agility to timely deliver above and beyond expectations especially on cross functional related issues.
  • Good communication, problem-solving, collaboration, interpersonal, and quantitative skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • This leader would be responsible for directing the team on program/project tracking, reporting of program/project data, providing resource utilization data, confirming compliance to defined schedules and budgets project prioritization methodology.
  • New Production Capacity Programs group is new within AMD Global Operations/Strategy team to assist in developing program governance coordination and assisting in the successful planning & execution of projects(s) from start to finish.
  • In addition, the team will be responsible to create management reports, working with the Business Units teams on priority setting, and working with engineering and suppliers on expected product output, yield targets and qual requests to improve supply.
  • Your attention to detail and dedication to meet planning goals will be essential in this team.

Preferred Experience:

  •  Experience in the semiconductor substrate field
  • Project/program management experience in a multi-disciplinary environment launching mid to high volume products
  • Proficiency in using standard project tools (MS Office, MS Project, MS SharePoint, etc.)
  • Strong influencing and communication skills within a highly matrixed and multi-cultural organization
  • Able to collaborate with others and be a leader within function
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, complexity and working under pressure with tight timelines and moving targets
  • Highly organized, detailed oriented, a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, ability to multi-task in dynamic environment
  • Project Management of Capital Projects
  • Supply Chain Management (SCM)
  • Excellent knowledge of supplier relationship management
  • Experience working in an engineering or semiconductor company
  • PMP/APICS Certification
  • Green Belt certification
  • Understanding of regional and global markets and cultures

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, statistics, engineering, or a related field
