Key responsibilities:

  • Represent AMD Client BIOS organization to work with cross functional team for the firmware design of next generation of AMD Silicon.
  • Interact with cross functional teams such as SOC design, Board design, Power and Performance and other firmware team to champion ideas and gain alignment; Provide feedback and tradeoff in order to converge on key design decisions.
  • Should be able to engage at a technical level with internal groups, or external groups such as customers, or industry forums.
  • Assess and recommend emerging technologies through close partnership with industry leaders. Identify how future technologies will intersect with AMD and develop technical strategies to enable those technologies.
  • Remove barriers to change, never be satisfied with the status quo, and always strive for improvement of current firmware design that facilitates quality, efficiency and better customer experience.
  • Responsible for taking the ideas from concept phase through delivery, including creating high level design docs, scoping design and requirements, detailed spec creation
  • Work as part of a global development team spanning multiple international sites.
  • Facilitate direct and open communication, diversity of opinion and debate to achieve the best outcomes


Preferred experience:

  •  Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
  • 15+ years BIOS/Firmware Development experience
  • Strong understanding and experience with UEFI.
  • Demonstrated success in firmware definition, design, and execution.
  • Proven understanding of x86 architecture from both a hardware and software context.
  • Demonstrated track record of innovation and IP creation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Proven track record in product development/design with strong Program Management skillset
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
