Partnership Engagement Engineer/Architect (Open Source)

The Role


We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Partner Engagement Engineer to help lead technical and roadmap alignment with key open-source software partners. In this role you will play an integral part in the Datacenter Ecosystem and Engineering team, working closely with Linux distribution vendors, key open-source projects, and the broader developer community.

You will champion the optimization of AMD-based HW for running operating systems, virtualization containers, databases, tools, and other key components.

You will engage with OEMs and Linux partner engineers to drive closure of technical issues leveraging partner and AMD engineering resources.

You will serve a leadership role in helping align engineering and business stakeholders to design and implement solutions that take full advantage of AMD and partner technologies.


Preferred Experience

  • Deep experience with open-source software development, practices, communities, and distributions.
  • Significant hands-on experience managing complex projects, schedules, and business relationships.
  • Working knowledge of x86 processor architecture, operating system, virtualization, and modern datacenter design.
  • Excellent skills in technical issue management and championing feedback to make AMD technology better
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience in writing white papers, presenting to customers, partners, and clearly conveying technical information.

Academic Credentials

  • Min BS or MS in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field
