The Power Architect is an innovator who has a significant impact on all AMD products, including Ryzen and EPYC server chips, Radeon GPUs and game console APUs.  This position interfaces with multiple product teams and disciplines across the company.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key position on the SOC design team supporting end-to-end product development and responsible for the following:
    • Architect and drive aggressive behavioral requirements and techniques to support power efficient designs, power-related features, physical design, and CAD
    • Develop/ analyze power modeling and simulation
    • Generate power feature definition and specifications
    • Support post-silicon characterization, debug and productization
  • Individual works closely with system, IP, physical design, CAD, product test/ validation, and program teams to propose solutions, drive tradeoff analysis, and finalize decisions.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND Skills

  • Experience in microprocessor and or chipset hardware design for power
  • General familiarity with microprocessor and/or PC architecture, power-related firmware, software, algorithms and characterization for production
  • Skilled with power modeling and simulation, Excel, Verilog
  • Experience with chip design tools, UNIX platforms, scripting languages, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

 

EDUCATION:

  • BS and 9+ years’ experience
  • MS and 7+ years’ experience
  • Ph.D. and 4+ years’ experience
