Power and Performance Characterization Engineer - 94622


The role

Are you an Engineer seeking to make a true impact in the Power and overall performance for top of the line products?! As an engineer you will ensure our APU solutions deliver the Best Possible Product. You will be encouraged to test, automate, characterize, and analyze power and the performance data and results for a multitude of different products. You will report your results to large audiences within the company, including managerial and executives. The data presented will trigger important decisions, and next steps towards optimization of one or more products. You will work with automated environments which will help drive “big data” based decisions. Your systems engineering hardware and software technical expertise will drive the enablement of opportunity and the timely resolution of issues, your ability to work across the org will ensure full engagement with design & other teams, and your project management skills will help provide a tactical execution structure.

Responsibilities

  • Drive performance/watt assessment, analysis, & attainment for Client Notebook products with continuous test, debug, analysis, & defect resolution throughout the course of a project
  • Engage with multi-functional leadership & teams to integrate your results with other project work streams
  • Implement strategies & test plans for product-specific performance/watt scenarios, feature, and target market spaces as appropriate; identify risks & build mitigation plans
  • Hands-on debug to root cause performance and power challenges; collaborate with peer teams to analyze behaviors and resolve issues
  • Support multi-functional technical teams with targeted ad hoc analyses through hands-on testing
  • Develop positive relationships with program Leaders across the organization and development partners
  • Collaborate with other specialists on common program test & debug activities and process improvements


Preferred experience

  • Direct technical experience on system performance analysis and micro-architectural power management
  • Product development with hardware platforms and their software & firmware ecosystems
  • Experience in the PC architecture space and familiarity with hands-on system setup & testing
  • Excellent verbal communication and written, presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, planning, and technical leadership skills.
  • Proven track record to deliver multi-functional initiatives.
  • Energized by working in a fast-paced matrixed organization and multi-site environment


Education

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 5+ years of proven experience
