Server Pricing Analyst



This role is a key strategic position for the AMD Datacenter CPU team and is responsible to facilitate and ensure the Server BU team meets annual revenue, budgets and margin targets. This role will report directly to the Director of Business Operations for AMD’s Datacenter and Embedded Solutions Group, is based in Austin, and will be responsible for the following:

Drive the operational execution of pricing decisions on new and existing products and collaborate across functional areas such as Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Finance. Prepare content and materials to enable appropriate analysis and decision making among BU leadership. Forecast and track the anticipated contractual pricing and funding impacts to revenue.

Key responsibilities:


  • Provide insightful recommendations through understanding of pricing strategies, product positioning, competitive analysis, and levers of execution
  • Develop and define pricing structures through team collaboration
  • Execute approved pricing in all pricing systems (Model N, SFDC, etc)
  • Drive partner organizations to execute approvals, changes, modifications for pricing (finance, sales ops, etc)
  • Understanding contract negotiations, commercial bids as well as proposal development
  • Translate pricing decisions into clear operational actions; driving communication and working cross functionally to operationalize
  • Drive and track all customer deals through a contracts review process
  • Assess performance of pricing and funding decisions for future courses of action
  • Quarterly reporting of pricing metrics to demonstrate alignment with pricing strategy, win/loss analysis, focused areas of improvement, etc.


Preferred experience:


  • Comfortable in navigating a fast-paced environment - able to optimally navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced constantly evolving environment, while optimally managing towards Key Performance Indicators
  • Ability to multi-task and program manage several activities.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and can communicate effectively via face-to-face, conference call and email environments.
  • Strongly analytical, possessing a good sense of finance and accounting principles and understands the impact of pricing to profit margins, account strategy, and health of the account.
  • Strong solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware is a plus (difference between Memory/ IO/ Throughput/ Clock Speed, etc)
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in conducting sophisticated analysis and cross divisional projects to deliver results required, while demonstrating concise and transparent communication style.
  • Model N experience a plus


Academic credentials:


Bachelors degree, preferably in a business or finance field.
