The Person:

The person for this role would need to a good team mate with good analytical thinking skills to be successful. Also, should have the ability to foster a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, debug and manage manufacturing and characterization test programs for next-generation AMD microprocessors. Work on Verigy 93K Automated Test Equipment (ATE). Debug test infrastructure issues including test HW, test SW, and device-specific IP. Engineer must ensure overall compatibility, compliance, and test coverage of microprocessors from product definition through product qualification and into high volume manufacturing by developing product specific test hardware, software and diagnostics.

  • Knowledge of basic principles and practices in one technical field.
  • Makes routine technical decisions independently
  • Performs design or design-equivalent work on a portion of a project, process or activity of limited scope with supervision by more senior staff
  • Has accountability for accuracy, reliability and completeness of assignment results, but others are responsible for project or activity results
  • Makes positive technical decisions under supervision of more senior staff.
  • Familiar with general Computer Architecture concepts (such as pipelining and caching), x86 architecture, PC computer organization.
  • Experience with revision control (GIT, SVN, CVS, RCS or similar).
  • Familiar with JTAG IEEE 1149.1 specification.
  • Familiar with hardware description languages.
  • Experience with logic analyzers, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and other debug tools
  • Familiar with XP, AGILE, Scrum, or Kanban programming paradigms.
  • Experience as a leader in roles held through a job or extracurricular activities.
  • Experience with high level software programming languages (C++, Java, C, C#).
  • Experience with a scripting language (Perl, Ruby, shell script, or similar).
  • Courses in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Digital Logic, Circuit Theory.
  • Familiar with Linux or Unix Operating Systems.
  • Familiar with Microsoft standard apps (i.e. Office), Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
