Product Development Engineer

The Role:

Product Engineering is a cost, quality, and time-to-market driven team responsible for enabling the availability of microprocessors to our customers. Pre-silicon responsibilities for the Product Engineer include understanding product features and performance targeting, developing end-to-end characterization test plans, and highlighting test flow coverage holes. Post-silicon responsibilities include leading debug across fields (Product Engineering, Design, Platform), analysis of characterization and yield data to optimize the test flow for cost and quality, and the execution of characterization plans. The Product Engineer will be responsible for driving yield improvements through data analysis of test results, and collaborative debug with Test, Design, and Fab engineers.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have professional experience developing and deploying big data solutions with a strong desire to learn new technologies and to help build better tools in a team environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Crafting a test and characterization plan from documentation provided by designers
  • Translating test and characterization plan into test cases
  • Developing test methods for incorporating test content into a Verigy93K test program
  • Leading test pattern debug on the ATE/Verigy93K (shmoos, waveforms, etc…)
  • Collect characterization data on the ATE/Verigy93K
  • Supporting fault isolation and failure analysis if required
  • Analyzing data and reporting results to internal and external customers
  • Develops software tools and scripts that support test process, program debug/audit, test time analysis.
  • Develop and implement test programs to analyze products
  • Debugs test

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with ATE equipment (Verigy 93K)
  • Solid understanding and experience in test emulation and waveform analysis
  • Good solid understanding of UNIX/Linux and scripting languages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Great teammate with strong communication skills and basic statistics knowledge
  • Experience with software programing languages (Python, Java, C)
  • Experience in the XP, Agile, Scrum, and/or Kanban programming paradigms
  • Experience using git for revision control

 

Academic Credentials:

  • Preferred B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • Preferred 1-3 years of ATE test experience w/solid understanding of ATE and digital IC test (ATPG/Scan Logic, SRAM BIST, RegChk)
