As the leader of AMD's Client NPRP lab team, you will own the last step in the process before sending AMD's latest cutting edged products to the most influential reviewers in the world. In addition to working side by side with some of the best engineers in the world, you will also get exposure to teams and executives across the company in this high profile role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The primary mission is to lead and mentor a team of technicians through build, test and on time shipment of systems to reviewers.
  • Ensure software, firmware, CPUs, Motherboards and memory are aligned to NPRP delivery scheduled.
  • Develop test plans, and system configurations with engineering, product marketing and product management to for NPRP.
  • Quickly diagnose issues and resolve or bring them to the attention of the lead engineer in order to maintain overall test schedule.
  • Responsible for diagnosing and resolving test automation issues.
  • Sign-off responsibility for synchronized releases for internal and external delivery
  • Partners with External and Customer co-validation teams

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Demonstrates Systems breadth - CPU, chipset, boards, options, peripherals, OS, BIOS, drivers
  • Sufficient exposure to industry standard benchmarks, benchmark testing, setup and reporting.
  • Ability to lead teams to test requirements for test flow development and execution.
  • Speaks SW, Hardware and System. Able to function within Bios, Drivers, Silicon, IO subsystems, power, thermal.
  • Knowledge of test methodologies as they would apply to end customer experience through NPRP review cycle.
  • Ability to work with Lead System Engineers, Lead Technical Engineers and debug leads to resolve sophisticated issues that are found in the NPRP test cycle.
  • Experience working with Product Marketing, Product Management, Program Management, and PR to ensure all software, firmware, CPU, motherboard, and memory schedules align to support launch schedule and ensure the highest quality product is delivered to reviewers on time.
  • Knowledge of how systems power sequence from POST to operating system including power, BIOS, firmware, boot and HAL.
  • Exposure to register read and write using software and hardware tools in an OS or with JTAG interface.
  • Ability to interpret new technologies from specifications and execute test procedure content.
  • Ability to code with C#, Python and PowerShell
  • Experience leading computer testing, validation or performance benchmarking.
  • Experience with client PC and mobile testing, diagnostic and debug preferred
  • Experience designing, tracking, and detailing experiments to isolate and root cause issues, industry standard computer architecture specs
  • Familiar with Microsoft Operating Systems, Linux Operating Systems, virtualization software (VMware, Xen, et al), and validation/certification processes for each of these environments
  • Familiar with high performance client IO adapters, drivers and stress testing

 

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
