Product Manager, Commercial PC Business - 114504


THE ROLE:

Within the Client Computing Group, we are bringing ground-breaking technology to the personal computing ecosystem. Our RYZEN branded products are crafted for the most fast paced developers, artists, and gamers - people who demand responsiveness and power efficiency from their PC. RYZEN stormed the market in 2017 and continues to excite people across the globe.


The person:

As a Product / Portfolio Manager, your primary mission will be to support the Client OEM segment by leading the product platform lifecycle (market analysis, NB/DT design in, and supervising platforms through the development stages), working with internal product management and engineering teams, and executing design win strategies to grow AMD share.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead design-in cycle with major OEMs
  • Support OEM Account sales teams and Vertical segment leads with design in material and collateral
  • Work with Product management and engineering to secure resources/support for OEM platforms
  • Supervise OEM platforms through the entire program cycle (concept, development, & launch)
  • Work with cross functional teams to lead platform testing, reporting and collateral generation
  • Bring to bear support from internal/external organizations to resolve issues
  • Support and drive business planning activities including P&L modeling and design win forecasting (including sample requirements, platform volumes, brand mix, revenue, margin, and market share)
  • Supervise market and industry trends across commercial client segments


Preferred experience:

  • Pre-existing understanding of the PC market, with an emphasis on OEM/MNC PC makers
  • Outstanding time-management skills - ability to prioritize multiple ongoing projects/initiatives
  • A quick learner and rapid adopter of standard methodologies which will drive positive impact on business
  • Ability to quickly build effective strategies with imperfect or insufficient datasets
  • Strong interpersonal skills - working across a large organization and get things done
  • Executive-level presentation and communication skills
  • Highly results-driven
  • Ability to work under pressure


Academic credentials:

  • 10+ years in a fast-paced business planning or strategy role - high tech experience preferred
  • BS and/or MS degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance
  • MBA is a strong plus
