Client Mobile Platform Program Manager 1
 

Technical program manager role leading a multi-national, multi-discipline engineering team responsible for end to end validation and platform execution for next generation AMD Client Mobile and Chromebook solutions.

The ideal candidate has experience in the delivery of product programs from Concept through Customer Ship, utilizing large, matrixed teams to plan and execute system level products.  You will have a deep understanding of the technical challenges related to computing system solutions.  This includes the interaction of silicon, platform, and software elements.  You are energized by working in a fast-paced technical organization across multiple sites, and with dynamic product requirements.  You want to make a difference in the industry and are passionate about collaborating with teams and our customers to find unique solutions to tough problems. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The System Engineering Program Manager owns planning and driving the execution of platform-solution engineering functions to enable best in class customer solutions.
  • Drives alignment between AMD business unit product deliverables and customer platforms to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and quality throughout the product lifecycle
  • Engages with technical and business leadership teams to understand and document program scope, establish integrated schedules, assess, and manage program progress and risk, and manage resource and budget plans.
  • Represents the Client Systems Engineering organization in corporate planning and execution forums
  • Supports the customer-facing engineering and business teams to set product maturity and schedule expectations, oversees the development and distribution of documented product collateral, and proactive communication of pre-production issues to early partners.
  • Develops and shares best-in-class processes to streamline and grow the organization to meet new challenges and expanding roadmaps.
     

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5-7 years Program Management Experience 
  • Has driven product development with hardware platforms and related software ecosystem. Specific experience with x86 SOC products and PC industry suppliers/OEMs/ODMs is preferred.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts and to lead technical teams in scoping new requirements and running task forces when issues surface.
  • Skilled in interfacing with internal customers, partners and in managing joint-development projects
  • Ability to understand and extract action plans from complex technical discussions and translate into succinct messaging tailored for varied targeted audiences
  • Familiarity with budgeting, resource allocation, and long-range planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and expertise in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Teams)
  • Seasoned in leveraging MS Project, Excel, Share Point, Teams for clear communications and coordination of work.
  • Ability to network quickly and independently to align resources towards a common goal.
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, able to prioritize, and balance multiple work streams to tight deadlines
  • Ability to support limited domestic or international travel

 

OPIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with JAMA, JIRA and similar Systems Engineering requirements management and defect tracking tools.
  • Breadth knowledge of x86 CPU/SoC/Chipset/Graphics architecture and experience in functional, electrical, power-performance or security pre- and post- silicon validation.
  • Experience in NPI planning/development of complex semiconductors, SOC's.
  • PMI PMP® Certification

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science is required.
