Program Manager - Post Silicon  

The Role: 

As a Program Manager in the System IP Engineering organization, you are part of a dedicated team whose work has enabled AMD to launch multiple SoC’s into market in any given year. The Program Manager is responsible for driving the completion of complex cross functional engineering tasks. Additionally, this person will be accountable to drive schedules, resources, report status and deliverables for post silicon teams within the System IP Engineering (SIP) team. The SIP team includes various disciplines like Infinity Fabric, Memory Controller, RAS etc.

We want someone who will lead and influence the team with solid communication and collaboration skills.  You drive clarity and organization in chaotic situations and comfortably prioritize a dynamic set of tasks and responsibilities. Both stepping back and seeing the big picture and getting down in the details work for you. You will use your skills to manage broader teams and be the point person to ensure all competing priorities are in sync. 

The successful candidate will be a strong program manager with high tech industry experience to include: 

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, both written and oral 

  • High attention to detail and good follow through in a fast-paced environment 

  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Define, plan, and drive engineering program plans based on senior technical guidance and involving multi-component environment (AMD IPs, HW, SW, FW) 

  • Provide program management leadership to for SIP Post-Silicon teams spanning multiple disciplines/geographies  

  • Craft, lead, and continually improve program-level processes and methodologies. 

  • Identify and manage program dependencies, issues, and risks. 

  • Engage with internal and external partners in product planning, development, and validation activities 

  • Align and manage post-silicon program deliverables. 

  • Coordinate team communications and reviews with AMD senior and executive management and customers 

  • Track and report status vs. objectives throughout the lifecycle of the operation 

  • Provide miscellaneous program leadership and support as required. 

 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Proven experience in areas of program management of the post-silicon, product, and platform engineering 

  • Ability to put a program management practice in a highly distributed multi-disciplinary environment 

  • People skills and quality-first mentality 

  • Experience developing a long-term program plan with periodic deliverables and milestones 

  • Experience using and managing team collaboration tools such as TWiki, Confluence, JIRA, etc. 

  • Skilled in MS Office (esp Excel, Powerpoint) & MS Project tool suites, MS Sharepoint, Teams etc. 

  • Familiarity with post-silicon concepts 

  • PMP certification a plus, but not required 

  

Academic Credentials: 

BS degree in EE, CE, or CS; MS preferred
