Profiler Architect for GPU Compute Tools

The Role:

AMD is looking to hire an outstanding “Profiler Architect/Tech Lead” to lead the design and implementation of an excellent quality, Industry leading profiler/tracer for the ROCm family components as part of the Machine Learning Software Engineering. This person will be responsible for coming up with innovating, industry first type of ideas for high performance Profiler with lower latency, to add to the AMD’s GPU Computer Tools.

We work in Open Source, and this person will have the opportunity to seek interesting and substantial problems working with Open Technology Stacks like HIP, OpenMP. Will interact closely with key AMD technical experts/specialists to discuss and ensure the best possible tools are provided for AMD platforms.

The Person:

Innovative thinking and working with industry standards in software processes and using the latest and futuristic technologies.

Mentoring and bringing up team of engineers and working well with high tech architects and fellows.

Excellent presentation skills to present technical ideas and technical innovations, implementations to higher management.

To be able to present AMD products, technical content in front of customers, 3rd parties, and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop open source and proprietary performance tools on the ROCm platform for multiple programming languages and frameworks
  • Research, architect and implement state-of-the-art software and influence hardware designs to improve GPU computing support
  • Evangelize AMD innovative solutions by creating conference presentations, seminars, papers, patents, and other collateral
  • Be responsible for profiling data processing algorithms and visualization
  • Work closely with AMD software and hardware engineering teams to remain knowledgeable of current trends and future features; provide suggestions for feature and fixes in released and unreleased products
  • Advise technical directions for GPU features and tools across components and domains
  • Work with Partners and 3rd parties to make their Visualization and other Profiling application software with the APIs provided to them, to meet the needs of the customers.
  • Work with customers to review their requirements and influence them as per the current and futuristic technology and bring the workload to architect and plan the work to be implemented.
  • Mentor engineers in the team in new Technology areas for helping implement Profiling tools.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience developing open-source software
  • Experience with Tools development especially Profiler, Tracer and profiling data processing algorithms and visualization
  • Experience in programming using C++, C, Python
  • Knowledge and experience with the state-of-the-art software and hardware designs (GPU computing)
  • Experience in creating conference presentations, seminars, papers, patents and other collateral
  • Working with software and hardware engineering teams
  • Experience working with Partners, 3rd parties and customers.
  • Mentoring engineers in the team and bringing them up.

Academic Credentials:

  • Bachelors in related areas with demonstrated ability in developing Tools like profiler, tracer.
  • Masters in related areas with proven experience in developing Tools.
