Reliability, Availability, Serviceability (RAS) Architect

The Role:

AMD’s reliability, availability and serviceability (RAS) architecture team is hiring to analyze and optimize high-performance System-on-a-Chip (SoC) designs for Cloud computing, machine intelligence acceleration, and immersive mobile processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a RAS Architect in AMD's RAS Architecture team.
  • Participate in microarchitecture exploration, reliability modeling, and analysis for SoC designs that include next-generation CPU cores, GPU cores, memory technologies, and interconnects.
  • Build tools to collect and perform analysis on reliability data from production systems.
  • Intimately understand design architecture and propose solutions to enhance reliability.
  • Develop tools and methodology for reliability analysis of workloads.
  • Communicate, propose, and implement solutions to processor and system RAS issues.

Preferred Experience:

  • CPU, GPU, or computer system microarchitecture
  • Development and usage of computer system performance simulation
  • Strong programming skills, including experience with C++ and Python (or similar)
  • Experience with reliability modeling techniques such as architecture vulnerability factor (AVF) analysis or analysis of system reliability is desirable

Academic Credentials:

PhD in CE, EE, or CS plus six years of experience or MS in CE, EE, or CS, or a closely related field of study plus ten years of experience preferred.
