Memory BIOS Engineer - 103782



Exciting opportunity within the Client BIOS development team working on latest cutting-edge memory technologies.

Get to work with other firmware development teams, CPU architects, test teams, and end customer. In this role you will be responsible for developing and maintaining memory initialization code that optimizes the memory sub-system for maximum performance as well as designing and implementing all memory related system features.



Ideal candidate is a highly motivated, self learning engineer with a passion for the lowest level of understanding of memory architecture; both hardware and software. Candidate should be self-motivated and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. As the BIOS memory expert you will be asked to explain in simple terms your work such that it can be understood by piers with less familiarity. You will also need to work closely with memory architects that will know more than you. Therefore, strong communication skills are very important.



  • Design, develop, and debug memory initialization firmware BIOS for systems and platforms using AMD APU/CPU including new memory feature adds.
  • Work closely with motherboard designer, APU/CPU architects and validation/test teams.
  • Able to work to a deadline in a fast-paced environment.
  • Debug memory interface issues.
  • Work on both internal and external platforms.
  • Work on a system simulator pre-silicon
  • Memory optimization and tuning. 



  • BIOS, firmware, or system software development
  • Strong Knowledge of firmware memory initialization, JEDEC, UEFI, and PC industry standard
  • Expert at C language; knowledge of assembly
  • Familiarity with x86 and ARM CPU/APU architectures and associated compile tools
  • Familiarity with at least one BIOS code base (AMI, Insyde or Phoenix BIOS) preferred
  • Able to read and interpret system schematics.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must have strong system debugging skills.
  • Knowledge of DDR4\LPDDR4
  • Experience in BIOS related tools development is a plus.




  • BS-CS/BS-EE with 10+ years experience with BIOS, firmware or system software development
  • MS-CS/MS-EE with 7+ years experience; with BIOS, firmware, or system software development
